Bell Street Improvements – Montgomery, AL

HMB prepared plans for roadway improvements along Bell Street/Maxwell Boulevard from Maxwell Air Force Base to I-65, approximately 1 mile. This project included upgrading the existing four-lane undivided facility to a four-lane divided roadway with a 25’ median with curb and gutter and a closed storm water system. Other improvements included sidewalks, a 10’ shared used path, turn-lanes, median crossovers, landscaping, lighting and signals. Coordination with ALDOT, the City of Montgomery, and Maxwell Air Force Base was a key element in development of the plans due to the participation of various specialized designers responsible for landscaping, lighting, signals and numerous utilities.
